Central Superior Service is the highest level competitive examination for seeking job on regular basis i.e BS-17 in Government Departments at Federal level in Pakistan.
CSS Examination has two parts:-
CSS Exam is a diversified examination requiring a candidate to prepare different subjects such as English Essays, Islamiat, Current Affairs, Pakistan Affairs, Everyday Science and selective papers of 600 Marks as per choice of candidate.
Comprehensive and practicable study plan is basic ingredient towards successful result in CSS Examination. Written Examination is the first step in CSS Examination so it is the first step to prepare the part in efficient manner to proceed further. 60% marks in written examination is the minimum benchmark set by the successful candidates. 60% marks 720 out of 1200 of written part of CSS Examination. Every aspirant candidate should set the benchmark in written examination. After securing 720 marks in written part, if a candidate prepares interview well and secures 170-180 marks; there is surety to get job and become a CSP officer. So overall 900 marks should be the minimum target for any candidate.
5-6 months time is considered a good period of time for preparation of CSS Examination. Even though there are few exceptions that succeeded in getting through the CSS Examination in three months. Sheer hard work has no substitute but well directed hard work is required for success in CSS Examination.
Different people learn things differently as per their attitude, interest and plan. Many successful CSS Qualifiers have narrated about their study plan. Here we discuss some of them in brief.
STUDY PLAN NO. 1 FOR CSS EXAMINATION:-
We are well aware with the fact that 1200 marks, 12 papers constitute written part of CSS Examination. So, one has to prepare 12 papers. These 12 papers may be prepared as per routine of one aspirant who is willing to qualify the CSS Examination. 12 papers may be studied on 6 days a week; 2 papers on each day.
Monday: Essay + Islamiat.
Tuesday: Current Affairs + Pakistan Affairs.
Wednesday: Everyday Science + English Composition.
Thursday: 2 Selective Papers (Lets Suppose Chemistry)
Friday 2 Selective Papers (Lets Suppose Pol. Science)
Saturday: 2 Selective Papers (Lets Suppose Environmental Sciences + Punjabi).
Two hours per day to one paper is a good time for its preparation. Alongside these read one English and one Urdu newspapers to remain up to date with current knowledge.
STUDY PLAN NO. 2 FOR CSS EXAMINATION:-
Study the compulsory papers on alternate days such as Monday, Wednesday & Friday whereas selective papers may be studies on Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday. This will require 4-5 hours study per day. Alongside these read one English and one Urdu newspapers to remain up to date with current knowledge
STUDY PLAN NO. 3 FOR CSS EXAMINATION:-
Depute one week each to selective papers in order to cover them and then concentrate on compulsory subjects. If we depute one week each to every paper, it will take 3 months time to complete the cycle of all papers. Alongside these read one English and one Urdu newspapers to remain up to date with current knowledge
STUDY PLAN NO. 4 FOR CSS EXAMINATION:-
Fix 6 hours per day and give 30 minutes each to every paper. This plan is for those who prepare CSS Examination in a year’s time. Alongside these read one English and one Urdu newspapers to remain up to date with current knowledge
