Lahore High Court is the pinnacle of the judiciary at the provincial level. The highest level judicial forum and a very good place to work and build a career for those who want to become its part in the administration and establishment. Punjab Public Service Commission has advertised 21 posts of Stenographer BS-17 for appointment in the Lahore Court, Lahore, on 12.08.2018. It is a very good opportunity for making a good career. The starting salary of newly appointed Stenographer will be about Rs.94000/month; a very good amount to start the career.
The prescribed qualification for eligibility against the post of Stenographer BS-17 is Graduation 2nd Division from a recognized University + Shorthand / Typing speed 100/40 w.p.m + Certification Microsoft Office & In-page. The age limit is 18 to 25 for general candidates. The place of posting is Principal Seat at Lahore or Rawalpindi or Multan or, Bahawalpur. All those having the prescribed qualification domiciled in Punjab are eligible to apply.
Punjab Public Service Commission will conduct 300 marks written three (03) papers i.e Paper-I (English), Paper-II (Urdu), & Paper-III General Knowledge. Syllabus is available at PPSC website. The written test shall be followed by Dictation for Shorthand and typing test and then 100 marks Psychological Assessment & Interview/ Viva Voce will be held.
PPSC prescribed test fee amounting to Rs.1000 for the examination. The application will be submitted online after depositing the fee.

Paper I- English Subjective
The paper will be of two parts Composition and Grammar; Composition will consist of Essay Writing, Précis writing, Comprehension, Drafting of letters/ notices/ other forms of communication whereas Grammar will consist of idioms, synonyms, antonyms, sentence correction/ fill in the blanks with use of preposition.
Essay writing and comprehension may be prepared from any graduation book. PMS Essays and CSS essays are helpful but they are lengthy. Forms of communication maybe prepared from B.Sc English as well as from Manual of Secretariat Instructions. Grammar may be prepared from any graduate level English book or from books for CSS / PMS English.
Paper II Urdu Subjective.
Essay Writing, Precis Writing, sentence correction, meanings translation of English passage into Urdu & use of idioms / phrases into sentences, Explanation of Poetic verses.
Urdu paper may be prepared from PMS Urdu compulsory paper books and from Graduation level Urdu Books.
Paper III-GENERAL KNOWLEDGE.
Pakistan Studies, Current Affairs, Everyday Science, Geography, Basic Mathematics and Basic Computer Knowledge as MS Office, Browsing and e-mail.
PAPER IV-DICTATION & SHORTHAND.
Two paragraphs, one from Civil and second from Criminal cases for Shorthand & Typing with required speed of 100/40 words per minute.
