Environmental Science involves the study of different components of the environment that interact and result in a beneficial or harmful way for the environment and the living creatures dependent on it for their sustenance. It includes the study of pollution, global warming, forest conservation, soil erosion and the like. It also provides ability to monitor and manage the impacts of human activities scientifically involving all related disciplines. Punjab Public Service Commission has advertised the posts of Assistant BS-16 for appointment in the Lahore High court, Lahore and prescribed four papers syllabus as written test; including a paper of Service Rules. The paper is new of its type for the post of Assistant BS-16. It includes the Punjab Civil Servants (Appointment & Condition of Service) Rules, 1974. Here we discuss the Punjab Government Servants (Conduct) Rules, 1966 with an effort to simplify what these rules are and their applications. Punjab Government Servants (Conduct) Rules, 1966 were promulgated on 24.08.1974 and are applicable on all the Government Servants serving in the province of Punjab. It has total 23 Rules describing the procedure of appointments and allied matters. The main purpose of these rules is to streamline the appointments, promotions, seniority and other issues by generalizing the Rules. These Rules are main source of Service Rules framed in all the departments, attached departments, autonomous bodies, corporations, authorities etc. Rule 1-2 describe the name of these rules, extent of promulgation, definitions etc. Rule-3 provides methods of appointment; initial recruitment, promotions & transfers.
