Central Superior Service commonly known as CSS is highest level civil service in Pakistan and Federal Public Service Commission is authorized institution by the state of Pakistan under the provision of Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, to conduct CSS examination in Pakistan for induction of candidates in Civil Service of Pakistan. The successful candidates who qualify through the whole process are offered jobs in the following 12 service groups. Every candidate gives his/ her choices while filling in the application form in order of preference. It is important for a candidate to fill in the section after careful thinking process. One other aspect is that if a CSS qualifier is higher in merit then he / she may get the group of his / her choice otherwise FPSC/ Establishment division offer the group as per merit achieved by a CSS qualifier. While filling in the application form, all groups should be mentioned as per priority of the candidate. Sometimes, it  happens so that a candidate qualified the CSS Examination but due to lower merit, he is not offered a group to which he has not mentioned in his application form even though his marks / merit falls in that group. Central Superior Service is the highest level competitive examination for seeking job on regular basis i.e BS-17 in Government Departments at Federal level in Pakistan.
